  • Herr Quasthoff has an incredibly beautiful voice, matched with impeccable musicianship and artistry. He never fails to move my soul regardless of the genre of music he is performing. Thank you, sir, for sharing yourself with all of us!

  • This is excellent - great song and a fantastic voice!

Bryn Terfel does a nice version of this as well in a similar style - less gospel and more spiritual.

  • I would sing like this … if only I had his voice, his resonance, his musicality, his diction, his feeling, his passion, his control, his presence, his genius. All I can do is listen and wonder in complete enjoyment and admiration.

  • 1:55, mass goosebumps.......

  • My uncle is a thalidomide baby as well, it really warms my heart and soul to see folks who were given the 'raw end of the deal' and continue to enjoy life to the fullest AND being joy and happiness to so many others. Thank you for posting. His voice and commanding presence bring tears to my eyes with every song I discover of his. <3

  • Thank you for singing this the way its suppose to be sung....So, many others have to think that there version is how it is suppose to be sung. If it was originally written that way then thats fine, but adding to a traditional piece of great music spoils it.

  • Such a beautiful voice!

  • Love Thomas

  • Amazing how he can sing this with completely convincing American style. One of the most beautiful voices EVER.
