This 1910 Paul Losche coin piano has just finished a COMPLETE rebuild of all pneumatic, leather and valves. It also has new strings, dampers and major piano work and is now in great shape for a 99 year old machines.
It is a vary large upright piano with mandolin rail. It also plays 3 sets of organ pipes. Front to back are Violin pipes, flute Pipes, and the cylinrical pipes in the back are a great sounding set of free reed clarinet pipes. The lower portion of the piano always plays. The upper part of the piano, as well as the 3 sets of pipes can all be turned on or off automatically from the roll. The double pump in the bottom of the case produces both vacuum for all of the mechanical controls and moving parts, and pressure for the organ pipes.
The roll in MMM 50, and this tune is: Das kannst du machen Kind, wenn wir geshieden sind. Aus "Madame Flirt" Foxtrot.
If you can translate the title for me I would love to know.
It is part of the wonderful collection of music machines at the Music House Museum near Traverse City (Acme) Michigan. Music machines from mechanical pianos to larger pipe organs are all restored and demonstarted on daily tours. The Music House is a MUST SEE if you are in the Traverse City Area.
