In an interview with U.S cable television Bono joked that ''megalomania started at young age''; out of despair, dyslexia, and as a result of not visiting his grandparents enough. The emotion singer revealed, ''in odd situation[s]'' his father would keep him locked in the dark; because of rage.

The attention was turned to his dating relationship with fellow Irish rock icon Bob Geldof. When asked was Geldof ''a guy that sortta showed you the way'', to homosexuality, Bono lashed out, stating that Geldof is a ''poor hygiene... sartorial state of disrepair''.

Clearly those memories where not so unpleasant though. A pining Bono remembered the days before they hit fame, when they begged for food together. A tear could be spotted at the edge of his eye, as he recalled ''the sexuality of it [and] the spirituality of it''.

He beautifully declared, ''you had a man offering me his child'', suggesting that Geldof was willing to conceive and give birth to a kid and parent it together as a couple.

Bono raised his head towards the camera crew and looked to have suddenly realised how honest he had been. In an attempt to restore his macho U2 front man image, he cowardly lied, telling that their five year relationship was just a ploy to ''get... air time''.

  • Are you doing the Bono voice? That's really similar! Starting with the customary "eh"!

  • @comp0stable Haha no that's a recording of the real Bono

  • The "info" has very little to do with the content and context of what the interview is about or what Bono talks about.

"in odd...locked up...because of rage" That's such a blatent twist of words to create a missiterpretation, the intent of which, I can only presume, is to mislead the reader to conclude something peverse and sinister.

It also talks about his relationship with Bob Geldof. It has nothing to do with homosexuality what...so...ever. Suggesting Bob wanted to have his baby is absurd.

  • @pico1208 You take things very very literally.... I find it hard to believe the tought that anyone would think this video is sincere...

''peverse and sinister'', hardly considering the absurd context I put it in, ''kept me in the dark'' as a rage against injustice...

I'm Sorry I offended you. BTW I'm a fan of Bono....

  • great vid, the whole world hates these two fags, hope they both die soon

  • This is totally misconstrued (your title caption)... totally taken out of context! It's about Bob recuting Bono to help the people of Africa. Two men with the same passion- peace and justice to people all over the world!

  • The man offering him his child was the dude in Ethiopia? who wanted Bono and HIS WIFE to take the son out of there so he could survive. He's recounted this many times. (Not that I give two sh**s if he's gay).

  • ... To continue from my previous post... Bono recounts a time when Geldof approached him to help with, not just the Live Aid concert but help raise awareness about the plight that millions of people suffered (and still do) due to starvation, drought, disease and poverty. To help get the message through to Bono, he took him to Africa and led him through some of the worst affected areas. It is the story of a man offering him his child that had such an impact on Bono that he played such a big part
