@jaestardb Paul and Jesus and his apostles often quoted from the Greek Septuagint. Quotes from the OT in the NT confirm that merely from the wording, no big deal. However, if you 'do some real research' you will find that the ancient designation 'Arabia' was considered to stretch even into Egypt. Genesis 45:10, 46:34 say 'Goshen-Arabia' as to where the Hebrews lived in Egypt. Paul quoted from the Septuagint, so it's entirely useless to say Saudi Arabia and ancient Arabia are the same.

@isnumo The fact that the Ka'ba used to be a house for hundreds of idols kind of answers the question for me as to who built it: people who didn't worship the true God. Maybe you are aware that there are churches that claim to have remains of certain prophets or apostles, or claim to mark a holy site. That some Muslims make similar claims isn't surprising, and just as reliable as those other claims. You do know Eve died before the Flood; think her grave really survived that intact?

Too Bad you were on the wrong Mountain. The Real Sinai is in Arabia. What a waste of time. Next time do some real research.

Mount Sinai is the holiest place for Judaism, Christianity and Islam

@Bimfirestarter the Saudi government is not interested in letting people know this fact because of the non-muslim tourist..they have enough on their plate with the Hajj..look up Jeddah, u will see our own mother(Eve) is buried here so why cant moses come through here? i can go on and on about the prophet of God coming here...who do you think built the Kabaa?
-
@Bimfirestarter the area in which Musa went when he was expelled was the land of Shaib which was in Midain....he married into the tribe of Jethro(shuabe)...the tribe of Jethro was destroyed by God and it is in Saudi Arabia..where he took his people back to.......Mount Sinai is in Saudi Arabia and everyone here nows it...look up horeb on Google(the rock which he spit for water) In Saudi!!!! all the proof is here.....

Of course, the thing that makes this mountain such a good candidate is the huge plain of Er-Raha in front of the mountain, more than enough to accommodate the numerous Israelites and 'vast mixed company' that came up out of Egypt with them.

@isnumo -If you're looking for Noah's ark, sure.
(Modern Sinai is ancient Sinai. Just because it's Egypt today, don't mean it wasn't considered Arabia anciently.....say, in the Romans' time, hint, hint).
is there any security up there? any policemen? are the steps lighted at night?,,thanx, i may do the climb next trip to egypt.

No, no, and no. You need to bring a torch if you'll be on the mountain after dark. There might be tourist police at certain checkpoints, but I don't recall explicitly. I wouldn't suggest doing the hike alone, but the most dangerous thing would be not noticing a camel come barreling down from behind you.

I climbed that hill. Didn't find it so hard.

It wasn't that bad; I'm playing it up for the entertainment value. I was also half-racing someone. I would walk the Inca Trail the next year. Now _that_ was a tough hike.
