Call Di Lifesaver! Story Three: Drunko

Sorie and Fodey have been drinking palm wine all morning and are very drunk. Sorie boasts he is the best palm tree climber in the village and climbs a tall tree. He falls, hitting his head and falling unconscious. A crowd gather and decide to take him to the witch doctor who applies traditional herbs. After many days he is still ill and because he has received no medical attention, he dies.

Mr Advice takes us back to the palm tree. What could they have done? A small child suggests they call an ambulance, and Sorie is taken to a clinic and treated properly. Mr Advice summarises that the ambulances are to help the whole community, not just pregnant women. The clinic is a safe and clean place and the staff are trained to deal with emergencies and to give first aid..
