Ruby is a rescue husky she was three when we got her, she already knew the commands as a sled dog, the most important being WHOA!

How did you teach her to pull? Or did she already know when you got her? I ask only because I have a husky that I want to teach and she's already 3. She'll run beside my bike, but she gets distracted VERY easily, especially out in front. And I can't keep her out in front without me running over her if she decides to stop for some reason.

Ruby (the husky) lives in the high desert (6,500 ft). Last winter we had 7 feet of snow and it gets as cold as -10 degrees F here. Ruby loves the snow and the cold, but she slows down in the summer and wants to sleep in front of the air conditioner. The most important thing for a Husky is to WORK! See the video, Ruby and I do this EVERY DAY! and if it is snowing we go snow shoeing, EVERY DAY! Now that she's 12 she only pulls me 4-6 miles (in her prime 14-20 miles), or 4 miles snow shoeing.
