The SMD DD-1 is a product the car audio world has been missing since its existence. How many people do you know that actually set their gains PROPERLY in your lifetime? Unless you are deep in the car audio profession, the answer is most likely NONE of them. Even then, i would say 80% of car audio shops don't even use an O-scope to set gains after an install. Anybody who claims to use their ears, is just guessing. I would not want to pay for an install, if my installer is just guessing. With the DD-1, you or your installer will never have to guess again. Its fast, easy, and accurate, even against a $7,000 Analyzer.

This is A video for the skeptics, hard headed, doubters, pessimists and haters...most people understand how this tool works and where its place in the car audio world is. Others, for some reason or another have cast doubt on this product. Some people, especially installers, are just old school, set in their ways, or they just don't choose to believe me. If this doesn't prove the worthiness of the product i don't know what will. If you still don't choose to believe after seeing this video, put one up against YOUR Oscilloscope and see for yourself.

****DUE TO HIGH DEMAND PLEASE READ BELOW****

If you are a potential customer, please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery, but it can be as soon as 2......and if they are in stock (soon, sometime in September 2011) they will go out the following day of the order.

AVAILABLE ONLY AT http://www.wcCarAudio.com *** Ever wonder how to set your amp gains properly? We now have a hassle free solution and anyone can set them like a pro! The SMD Distortion Detector DD-1 is the answer! This is not just an alternative to an Oscilloscope. It does not just detect clipping, it detects DISTORTION. Even a clean, unclipped signal can contain distortion. This device will sniff it out. Once you have set your gains with proper "overlap", you will notice your system sounds better then ever and may even be louder! Remember, the gain setting is NOT a volume knob, it is there to match the signal input to the head units output so you can reach maximum clean power as the deck is reaching its own maximum output.
Use tracks ranging from 0db to -15 db (included on the disc) to set your gain overlaps according to the way you play your system. Detailed instructions will be included of course and i promise you this is EASY. EVERY serious installer should have one of these. Search youtube to see what the first "beta" testers are saying about this product.

They are now on sale at http://www.wcCarAudio.com with an expected ship date of early August 2011. Visit the site and download the installation manual today, it is good readin' if you are interested in this product and want to know more before you buy.

  • i got a DD-1 today, it was awesome finding out my H/U has perfect power on flat, my aq3500.1 has a super sensitive clipping indeicator, the amp also buzzes when ur barely even clipping, the DD-1 was dead on with both indicators on my amp, y did i get it if my amp already has that?, i like to have more than 1 or 2 "opinions", it was DEFINITELY worth the extra money for extra reassurance, i dont make much money, im not a baller, the DD-1 is saving me HUNDREDS-THOUGHSANDS of dollars in the long run

  • @NiteRyda88 thanks man! Plus, bro, lets be honest...even with the clipping light on your amp, i bet you never used the proper test tracks to set your gain overlaps. Plus, you wouldnt know your deck didnt distort, unless you tested it. Some will, some wont. Even if youre 100% it isnt, you still have EQ's, processors that come before the amp and their distortion threshold needs to be determined as well. Without knowing that, it makes no difference where the amp gain is since its all a guess

  • Fuckin meade ur a crazy as fu . How do u have all that spare time to be doin all this shit . I need one of those , but i dont even know where i would find one . Start distribution to big stores so it can be easier to find .

  • @lynwoodfvkl i have no spare time lol - this is what i do with my normal time which causes me to have no spare time :D thanks!

  • I'd take the DD-1 over anything else

  • @BENSYARDSERVICE i promise you the DD-1 is faster and more accurate then your velleman. It is the end all, be all gain setting device. Period. I dont mind saying it.

  • @meade916 I don't entirely agree with seamokatinas but there are other options out there that I would choose over the smd dd-1. Take for example a velleman handheld oscope. It is cheaper just as if not more accurate and has a screen. It can also be used at any frequency. Not trying to hate or anything but you make your device seem like the end all, be all gain setting device.

  • Love this unit 140 is nothing I already made that money back and then some charging guys back home 20 bucks a amp to set there gains

  • How do I unprotect my amp

  • @meade916 also thaks to u, i got my amp n head unit to 100% playing level, i am able to throw 900-1000 watts to each of my 8inch subwoofers :), before they started to stink after a few minutes of beating on them at 600 watts each, but now they r receiving 100% clean signal n i can beat on the subs with more power n they have yet to stink, i played my 4 8s on full tilt on my aq3500.1 at .5 ohm at 13.3-13.5volts for 15 minutes, im not sure how much the imp rise is, but cant b much, thanks meade

  • @meade916 not the proper test track, ive used a 50hz tone from bass mekanics album with all the frequencies, but i know 50 is too high, yeah ive gotten lucky with my deck being 100% clean, with 5v pre outs, just because i wasnt sure about my radios distortion level i didnt add any processors, EQs or line drivers, as any small amount of distortion would only b amplified by them n screw me over even more, but thanks to u now i can add a line driver, bump that 5v to 9v
