Dedicated to world peace Turquoise Land is a colorful mixture of Western classical ballet technique and the graceful expressive charm of Persian traditional rhythms. Turquoise Land was choreographed by Nima Kiann on the occasion of the celebration of his works and artistic achievements in London on March 9, 2008. For the first time, classical ballet is choreographed on traditional Persian music composed by Master Parviz Meshkatian. In this ballet creation woman is the messenger of peace.

  • Wonderful. Thank you. I have a 6 year old daughter who has been taking ballet since she was 3. I showed her this and she was glued. I asked my friend in NYC who was a NYC ballerina 40 years ago and still has a seat at every performance of New York City ballet what she thought. She said the dancers are exquisitely trained. She specially loved the persian music and thought it adds to the whole art of ballet.

Where can I get a DVD of this? I want to support this troupe.

  • bravo, simply beautiful.

  • درود بي پايان بر شما دختران زيباي ايراني كه فرهنگ ما را زنده نگداشتيد . بي اختيار پس از ديدن اين ويديو اشك از چشمان سرازير شد .

چه بوديم و چه شديم .... افسوس

  • yes, this was beautiful. I love how they stayed true to their ballet technique and format but added the Persian hands, hips, and shoulder movements. The costuming was a great compromise. I'm impressed.

  • Very beautiful. The music is 1987's "Dastan". Record of Mohammad Reza Shajarian with Aref Ensemble. Music composed by the great Parviz Meshkatian (1955 - †2009)
