Another solo looped bass piece using my Elrick singlecut six-string and Looperlative looper. On this one, I tried experimenting with playing behind the beat on the one or skipping it altogether- something guys like Pino Palladino and Anthony Jackson have done in the past and it can sound very funky if done correctly (meaning not how I did it). I use a bit of chorus from my Boss VF-1. I also did a lot of standard two-finger plucking for a harder attack, whereas I usually use 3-4 fingers for 95% of a song.

  • you seem to hit the one pretty consistantly am i missing something?

  • It's skipped on the first chord in the original progression (it's played on the "and') and skipped on the third bar of the groove section. I meant to leave it out of a lot of the solo parts, but then pretty much forgot when I was improvising it : /

  • You should really go DI if that's possible for you. It'd be sweet to hear this without the the switches and with higher sound quality. But keep posting the vids, your facial hair is too awesome to be left out.

  • I'm actually sorting that out now. I've got a recording interface again, and have gotten most of the hiccups out of recording after my last tune (my software froze for some reason when recording this one though). Hopefully the next one will have audio from the recording rather than the camera's mic. Oh, and I've got the worst, patchiest facial hair ever :D

  • wow!! beautiful, defo one of ur best!! ur one of the best loopers iv seen in a long time!!

  • Thanks :) It's all due to the Santa Mullet t-shirt.
