this song makes me cry for no reason

I cried as I played it in high school, and I still cry when I hear it. I love this piece of art.

@alanslife1 I'm listening to this at work, and had to shut the door halfway as tears started to spring up in my eyes. Beautiful piece.

@pythonfan84 Interesting! I attend college in Virginia.

@crunkcymbals09 Hey I'm from another one of the 13 colonies, but mine (Virginia) is quite farther south. This piece is amazing. I wish my high school band would and/or could play this piece. I know that our last director was crazy about Grainger.

its so hard to choose which all state group you want to be in when one is playing mahler 2. the other the planets, the other techeli, and then the last... this beautiful piece.

So beautiful to hear. I'm from Massachusetts one of the original 13 colonies!

@alanslife1 I can assure you that it's for a great reason.

His house is about a twenty minute drive from me. Might try to get an appointment to see the place.

It sounds so much like Australian Up-Country Tune......

Makes me cry *every* time.

This is a really oddly orchestrated arrangement. A large part of what makes Grainger's Colonial Song so great is the extremely precise orchestration. I mean, the orchestra sounds great, but I'd really like to hear it in the "original" 1918 arrangement. I say original...but I mean the last of several that Grainger did himself.

i argree 100% with having the original copy but this is the only version I had. I'm sorry that I don't have the original wind band copy. Once I find it i'll be sure to put it up! sorry to disappoint you!
