  • There is a scientist working on a cure for tinnitus right now. Google: Will Rosselini

(Thumb this up so people can see)

  • Mr. Shatner,

I want to thank you for taking the time, and making the effort, to make this sincere and informative video. I have been a tinnitus sufferer myself; like you I had a terrible experience with it. I've taken the route of alternative therapies and have found great relief. But I have much respect for the ATA as well--anything, any therapy that can be found to help tinnitus sufferers is good in my book.

  • Ive forgotten how silence feels. Its a weird thing to realize, that something that you used to not even think about, but just take for granted, has become an almost unknown concept to you. Id give a lot to hear absolutely nothing for just one hour...

  • will alcohol worsen tinnitus or just iritate it

  • @Victoryisoursindeed I have Severe Tinnitus--I think there should be a special name for this(ese) suicidal type-insane noise(es). I have three or four different sounds going on all the time/24/7. It's enough to make me want to take my life. I would have already for sure on many occasions,

  • i was diagnosed with Tinittus today, but its improved alot sence i first scheduled the appointment a few days ago, im not sure if its temporarry but i think it is because it was ringing very loundly a 2 months ago then slowly went away, but after an afternoon of listning to my in ear head phones, which i was carefull not to het to loud, it came, back and the Bowl game later that week didnt help, either way i pray that it is temporary but for thoughs who have perminant tinitus, i hope for a cure!

  • @mclaughlin72 I just wanted to note that not all tinnitus is caused by nerve damage to the ear drum. Some definitely is a result of this kind of trauma or injury but there are many ways that people can develop tinnitus. Thanks for your comment!

  • @ATAJD Dear Mr Shatner, Thank you for the info: I just got Sudden hearing loss in my left ear , and now with that tinnitus. Any wonderful info would be great.

  • @shitnamese401 Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I suffer from Tinnitus & have since the day I was born. I was born with 40pct hearing loss. Yes, you do get the ringing noise. You won't go deaf straight away but your hearing will over a period of time worsen but not too much. Tinnitus is caused by nerve damage to the ear drum. I have the ringing constantly it doesn't bother me. There is no cure for this no matter what people say. I am 39 & if there was I would advocate it.

  • He is my favorite actor. And the irony is that i currently have tinnitus. I think it started about two years ago. My form is vascular tinnitus.

  • @shitnamese401 Tinnitus does not cause deafness, however going deaf can cause tinnitus - it just doesn't work the other way. So you will not go deaf from the tinnitus. But I would suggest protecting your ears from further damage by wearing hearing protection in loud environments.

  • @DunkingFeet also this does not effect your mental capacity..? I have a pitch that sounds exactly like the broad cast alert system you hear on TV. It is not just a ringing. It has a pattern...the tin. I had previously was not like this, it went and came. This episode is pretty constant. Anyone have this kind of sound...?before
