Thanks for the responses. As an update, I have had the problem happen after another format and XP Pro install. But so far on my Ubuntu partition, I have no problems at all. Next time I'm in the windows partition, I will check these things out bc I will have to use Windows again (wine can only do so much). Thanks again.

Might be a flash memory leak, you might check to see how much mem is used and by which apps. A small leak would be multiplied each time you run the app in a new tab and some get worse with app use.
