True, but that's why you have safeguards to deal with problem players.
I personally find live combat a lot more fun, and a lot easier to explain to those who are curious about LARP but fear the rules being "too complex", but I'd probably play pretty much anything.

Actually the Minds Eye Theatre system is designed that way so as to reduce the likelihood of injuries through people getting over-enthusiastic.
Believe me even "LARP-safe" weapons can hurt quite a bit.
