  • My grandson is 3 years 4 months. He did the Your Baby Can Read program with flashcards, and Mr. Thorne does phonics on Youtube. He can read quite a few words at about Grade 1-2 level, inc. the names of the planets, street signs, etc. (He lives in Germany). He can read newspaper stories in German, can spell with his magnetic letters. With new words, he tries to sound them out and likes reading books. He likes numbers too. Attends German pre-school, so should do ok in Kindergarten.

  • I agree. All those words can be sounded out.

  • This video inspired me to create a counter-video called No More Sight Words. It's now on YouTube.

  • Why not just teach children to read? English has a million words.
