Was passing this around to a few friends... and wanted to ask how things are. We have not talked in a bit, either in person or via Twitter. Drop me a line when you can...

Now that Spirit's mission has concluded, this superb animation chronicles its complete journey on Mars from Eagle Crater to Home Plate. We certainly got a lot out of this mission designed to last only 90 days.

Beautiful. I can not wait for the day to come when we step foot on the surface and we all get to see those pictures and vids. I would give anything to be one of those lucky few that will go there.

Wonderful Mars....

The amazing thing is that the missions were only planned for a few months. Reading about them from time to time is one thing, but looking back from where the starting point was is a jaw dropper!

Well this video is featured on a Lockheed Martin Space Systems home page so you must be doing something right.

Great job on this - I tweeted about it and the HiRISE people picked it up. This deserves to be seen as widely as possible - it brought both me and my girlfriend to tears and filled us with hope for humanity as a species. Truly awesome, and when you see Spirit there in the middle, and think "we put that there, in a spirit of exploration and curiosity," it just really hits hard. The graphic of the path it's taken is great, really powerful. Thanks for making this.

Lets look forward of getting some nice true color HD-Videos from Mars soon (MSL will be equiped with a HD cam afaik). Maybe some projects like ARES or Archimedes will provide us with HD cam aerial overflight footage as well :-)

The grand piano and strings certainly have incredible great acoustics on Mars.
Thanks for all the nice comments. Can anyone think of ways it might (realistically) be improved?

Amazing!
Wonder when the last photo was taken of the lander. Was it visible from the hilltop?

It's visible from not long after they left Bonneville Crater - but after that I can't find it. It might be a bright pixel or two from the summit of Husband Hill, I might try and render a 360 pan with exaggerated elevation from the summit to try and help locate it.
