Animated 3D Steam Train test

First off, Sound track is from Dumbo Movie.

Second, I finally got around to do more with the Steam Train.

However I couldn't do all the physics that I would have liked to have.
But at least it sort of works.

very good. I'm trying to animate a train myself but having a hard time getting the wheel motion correct. I'm using 3ds max 2010 any chance you could explain how you did the animation on the wheels?

I just use the simple method of using a Rotation Constraint, found under the animation tab along the toolbar.

And link the other wheels to your main wheel.

That way you only have to control one wheel, and the other do the same thing.

Rods rotate in a similar method using wired parameteres so you can tell them to rotate in the opposite direction.

great expressions on the face! i love watch mechanical parts work so well in animation. its so rewarding to make! the struggling and wiggle is very well done. i've been wanting to do more realistic work with trains someday when i have time ;)
