Heh, this horrible guitar tone was achieved by micing a Line 6 Spider III 150w with 2 SM-57s; one between the dust-cap and the cone, and one on the edge of the cone off-axis. It was recorded using Presonus Class A pre-amps into Logic Pro 8, and mixed with Logic stock plugins.

Double-micing and trying to stay close to the cone, and away from the dust-cap is a cool trick to try and get digital amps to sound warmer than they are.
