Clue, 03/28/09

This if footage of Clue, my 2003 AQHA mare, doing some walk/trot work. Please feel free to visit her playlist from my channel page, which details the lengthy journey of this mare. She foundered in June of 2007 following a pasture injury (compensatory laminitis), and she's only been back under saddle since the end of summer 2008. As you can see from the other videos, she is on a regimented program that involved ground work, lunging, and a slow but gradual build to being ridden again. Be mindful that when she looks awkward, it's not a pain issue--she's so used to having to compensate for that right front that she still sometimes will "guard" it. She's doing it less and less, but it's hard to break a self-preservation habit that she had for over a year, and it will take some time.

Clue's last ride was quite eventful--she's six, it's spring, and she is feeling good, so she is back to being her spunky self. She wanted to run off with me, and when she found she couldn't, she opted to throw down instead. During this ride, even with other horses being worked in the neighboring outdoor ring, she was rather quiet. If you watch carefully, you can see that she almost manages to sneak a canter stride in here and there, so she's still thinking forward--very forward. :)

How nice of her that she taped for you. Its been a while since her last video cross fingers shell have an update of them both soon. As for clue well i think you know my feelings on her by now. Such a star and a little warrior. Keep it up you girls make us all proud .

Hah that's probably a good thing that she wears them all the time - i'd hate to see something happen to her that could be easily prevented by bell boots! Lol i like the lime green. But i'm sure she would appreciate a new "bell boot wardrobe". What girl doesn't like new clothes??

Yeah, her and her bell boots are soul mates, lol. :) They are on even in her stall. They of course get diligent cleanings to ensure they're not too icky and that they're not rubbing on her. She seems happy enough in them, but it's probably about time I get her some additional colors... :)
