Canada has been one of the largest contributors to the relief effort in Haiti, sending more than 2,000 troops in the wake of the massive earthquake that devastated the Caribbean nation in January.

It has also allocated $555m over five years in aid, making it the second largest donor after the US.

Since the quake, Canada's mobile medial unit has flown dozens of missions into cut-off communities.

Al Jazeeras Steve Chao followed the medical team on one such mission to the community of Barriere Andre. (Mar 01, 2010)
