Ah so you're a customer in denial that he made a plecabo investment
-
@Capeau I don't sell them silly. I am the customer, an end user. Just keep on doing what you're doing... ignorance is bliss they say.
-
I communicate and have many friends/collegues in the US, also in Hollywood.
Im not going to reply to the spelling thing because its totally irrelevant.
Feeling those frequencies yes sure, hearing no, unless you pump up the output up to damaging points probably...
And you sound like someone whos just trying to defend the product he sells ;)
Its like selling someone a screen that displays infra red and ultra violet to watch a movie

Google this, "The Master List of DVD, HD-DVD & Blu-ray Movies with BASS Thread" read the thread, then tell me with a straight face that there is no sub 20hz content.
Maybe for your step of the process it makes sense, but for the final product, it's THERE.

I have a seriously hard time believing you do this for a living reading that misinformation.

@tzotzo ah internet banter, gotta love it. sorry to say this though tzotzo but your good friend Capeau is right, mastering studios cut off this low frequency not only because of distortion but also because it can muddy up the sound if all this noise is present. oh and im from UK btw so country has nothing to do with it. as far as movies go i have no idea if its cut or not for these, but dont say he needs to learn his profession when he obviously knows what hes talking about. laters

Its no myth dude, but whatever
-
@Capeau justding by your spelling you are not in the USA... here in the USA in Hollywood movies they do not cut off below 20Hz. And yes you can certainly hear below 20Hz... that is a common myth that I am surprised you still believe. You can hear down to below 10Hz, and feel all the way to 0Hz... you just need to increase dB output according to Fletcher Munson curves. Go read about your own profession.

No, the frequencies get cut off because we cant hear them anyway and allot of time they cause severe distortion, thats why they get cut. It results in clearer rendering of the audible audio.
You can easily test this by using analysing software on a computer btw
No, i work at one of the biggest mastering houses in my countre and we do quite allot of international work. We do CDs/DVDs and even Blurays
Whats the point of making subwoofers for frequencies no one can hear anyway?
-
@Capeau well you ain't doing it for Hollywood action and suspense movies, because there is alot of movies with plenty of sub 10Hz content. I am sure sound engineers do occasionally cut off filter, but many others don't. Also audio CDs will contain plenty of sub 20Hz as well. You must be making like instructional videos for VCR decks or something.
@moviepreviews21 discount if you buy two at a time

@13johan37 turns out there are many movies... not all action movies but many... some mystery/drama use it for scary effects. Just watched Thor Blu Ray and it had tons of low infra bass.
