Jacob Dennings, who suffers from chronic insomnia, faces many long nights of sleeplessness. On a particularly eerie night, Jacob steps out his house to his backyard for a cigarette with hopes that it will help him to sleep. Yet once outside, Jacob has encounters with something far beyond this world. Now, without any intentions of sleeping, Jacob will investigate this bizarre incident for the protection of himself and his home! This version has been re-cut; it is shorter than the original film.
