His way of teaching was really fascinating, quite impossible not to fall in love with classical music under his guidance..

I love Karajan's interpretation of music. The way he conducts is very deep, and to me, personally...brilliant.

Er spricht in Bildern, fantastischer Video. Ich hatte keine Ahnung von seinem Geheimnis, mit den Musikern so kreativ zu arbeiten.

It's an old recording. The tapes degrade in time. Watch the old Chaplin movies and see, how unnaturaly fast they are now ;) The more time between the recording and adopting to digital media, the higher the pitch ^^

Wow. Thanks for the information. No seriously, I thought that age+time=lower pitch, due to the stretching of the tape. I actually learned something through YouTube comments.

Having joined the Nazis being one of the examples of that opportunism :> Still I believe music redeems people in some way.. So as much as I prefer Bernstein over Karajan, I think both of them have their place reserved in Heaven after saving their share in the Purgatory ;)

`should be shunned for being a ruthless opportunist?`
it would be interesting to apply this throughout the classcal music world-I guess some people are simply more conspicious than others in this respect.
Much better concentrate on the musical results. Clearly,he was a remarkable conductor.
