The FORMATIC is perfectly suited for laminating natural wood veneers on raised cabinet and furniture door panels profiled on one face and flat on the opposing face.
With the optional double-membrane package the machine can laminate veneer on raised panels for passage doors profiled on both faces.
The machine can be supplied with an optional vacuum system to allow high quality 3-D thermoform lamination of PVC films on pre-shaped MDF panels.
The FORMATIC features a 3-D laminating technology that utilizes thermal fluid behind the membrane instead of compressed air. The use of thermal fluid is proven to provide superior heat transfer to the glue line and higher forming pressures when compared to presses utilizing compressed air.
The higher the forming pressure, the more precisely the veneer can be formed to the profile of the panel. This press safely delivers up to 50% more laminating pressure than a press with compressed air behind the membrane. The FORMATIC is equipped with an electronic device to control the forming speed. This feature allows the veneer to soften from the heat and form more slowly resulting in less splitting than with conventional compressed air systems.
With thermal fluid behind the membrane, the transfer of heat is at a constant rate throughout the press cycle. This allows the press to operate at lower temperatures than a compressed air system while delivering the proper quantity of heat to the glue line. Lower laminating temperatures reduce the risk of veneer splitting.
The FORMATIC is not just for laminating veneer. When equipped with the optional vacuum system, it thermoforms PVC films on pre-shaped MDF components with quality second to none. High pressure and low temperature is the reason again. The thermal fluid assures that the glue line reaches the required temperature without overheating the PVC film.
The FORMATIC has long been a top choice worldwide for laminating high gloss films when the ultimate in quality is demanded.
