Frankenberry and Count Chocula.
Baron Von Redberry and Sir Grapefellow.
Rivalries between kid's cereal characters---it died with the 70's.

I think Quisp was voiced by either Stan Freberg or Dawes butler and Quake was voiced by bill Conrad. Grany was June Foray

@rcd2066 I remember they had some kind of competition marketing blitz where kids were asked to vote for Quisp or Quake and they were going to get rid of the loser. I'm pretty sure Quake lost. They used to have some POP stuff in the supermarket asking you to vote.

I remember the commercials! I seem to remember there was a competition between Quisp and the "new and improved" Quake which Quisp won and thereafter, Quake disappeared. As to Quisp cereal, you can still get it at Marcs.

@folgore1 If you go to TV Toy Memories.com (the animation cel section) you can see a TV commercial animation cel of the competion between Quisp & Quake. It is a tote board with hash marks for Quisp on one side, and the other side was used for the Quake hash marks.

Yes, Quake was voiced by Bill Conrad. I met Conrad and he was telling stories about doing the voice of Quake. Wikipedia credits Daws Butler with doing the voice of Quisp.

Why don't they make Quake and Quisp cereals anymore?
ftenzer 2 years ago
@ftenzer They do still make Quisp. It is sold in a few metropolitan markets. They do that so they can keep their trademark active. To the best of my knowledge, they don't make Quake. It is a shame, I think they would make a nice bundle, off of the nostalgic memories of Quake cereal. Pepsi owns Quaker Oats and in my personal opinion, I think Quaker history is insignificant to Pepsi.
