Part 1 of 2 videos filmed on 07/11/09.
The East Lancashire Railway held it's final diesel themed day of 2009, on Saturday 7th November 2009.
Five locos were out in force, four of which were on passenger duties. They consisted of BR Class 24 D5054, BR Class 35 Hymek D7076 (currently running on the engine from a Western, hence the nickname 'Wesmek'), and the three resident 37's - Ex EWS 37418 (Pectinidae) and 37109, plus BR Railfreight 37901 Mirrlees Pioneer working a demonstration goods train which ran at several times of the day.
Part One kicks off at Rawtenstall, where 37418 is seen running round it's train, having been on a hellfire solo run from Bury.
On a service to Rawtenstall, D7076 and D5054 clag out of Ramsbottom station; the latter loco appeared to be having issues with it's heating boiler.
Having run round alone, D7076 takes the lead for the return run from Rawtenstall. She is also seen at Bury Bolton Street (crossing the ski jump over the metrolink), and arriving at Heywood.
37901 Mirrlees Pioneer brings Part One to a close, by arriving at Bury Bolton Street with the demonstration goods from Rawtenstall.

It's only temporary (D7076's own engine is being seen to), but I will admit the 'Wesmek' sounds great. Thanks Bob!
