  • You know most atheists say they are atheists BECAUSE OF their understanding of the Bible, right?

  • "The Atheist cannot accept the Bible, because if he did he would have to accept crtain truths"

The a-Theist cannot accept the Bible because there is no reason to think that it's true, just as the a-Unicornist cannot accept the Bible because there is no evidence that unicorns exist, not because believing in unicorns would change anything about your life.

Belief is not a choice, by the way.

  • Actually Lewis devised the trilemma argument not persuade atheists into accepting Jesus as lord, but in order to stop people who aren't christians from saying that they think that Jesus was not lord but was just a very good moral teacher or philosopher.

  • While I agree with you TBS, I have a question. You said, "Extroadinary laims require extraordinary evidence". I'm just wondering...how do yo urespond to the counter, "Well, what counts as extraordinary is simply subjective and arbitrary."

  • @lovegod1962 It's ok, you don't have to answer, if you're struggling. I already chose Thor anyway, if that helps.

  • @Sinnessa There is only one God you know the one that made you and me and the world. Don"t play with me you will lose

  • @lovegod1962 You sound convincing. I'll convert right now. Which God did you choose?

  • It is really sad you don"t know his love for you I know God is real

  • You all should read "More Than A Carpenter" by Josh McDowell.

  • @HellhathnoFury711 I have a very similar story. I was a Christian and really wanted to save my soul from eternal damnation. I even went to a Baptist university to study the life of Jesus. It was there that I realized it was all a lie and, after reading the Bible in full, I realized I couldn't be part of any group that endorsed, commended, approved of or in any way sanctioned the atrocities of the Bible.

Reading the Bible made me leave Christianity. I've been much happier since.

  • @GBart I agree. I believe more atheists have read the bible than have christians. I believe the only reason so many claim to be christians is because they have not read the bible for themselves. I was a christian, loved their god with all my heart, and wanted to save the world. So I thought I better read the bible if I was to be up for such a task. And once I read the bible it led to a series of events that make me today no longer a christian.

  • Amazing arguments, very well outlined, and your presentation, I find, is very NEUTRAL; you're not pure opposition, just reasonable investigations, and you're personality and approach to the logical process is very likable and inviting. If there were a such thing as an "atheist minister," you would be the closest thing to it.
