Indeed, you are very correct, exept Valhalla was not the land itself but only the Housing of the gods and the mighty warriors. The land itself was known as Asgård/ (spelling varry depending on what translation from the ancient nordic script but in english the most common spelling is Asgard)
i'm sorry to say that you are not entirely correct, vikings were peace loving traders (most of the time) and vikings could have any religion they wanted. However the people who believed in the nordic gods like Odin and Thor concidered wars holy.
