  • Oh cool! Thanks for sharing this precious information!

  • @OLYMPUSGAL yes because a lotus unlike what the video says is actually a type of water lily

  • The phrase "water lily" is used to describe aquatic plants of the following families, which have lily pads: Nymphaeaceae & Nelumbonaceae (Nelumbo) / lotus Lotuses are 5 species of water lilies, three in the genus Nymphaea and two in Nelumbo; both genera are members of the water-lily family, Nymphaea lotus, the Egyptian white lotus, is believed to be the original sacred lotus of ancient Egypt. It and the Egyptian blue lotus, N. caerulea, were often pictured in ancient Egyptian art

  • @OLYMPUSGAL If you entered a photo contest for horses, would you expect donkeys to be accepted? :)

  • If you entered a photo contest for waterlilies would one expect lotus to be accepted?

  • The Lotus flower was always one of my favorites, the others are Tulips, Roses and one other I can't recall.

  • That yellow lily you showed isn't a lotus, its a common creek lily.
