Meet The Talents-Mukul Ahmed

Mukul started his theatre career with The Half Moon Theatre, London and is an active community theatre activist. In 2007 he completed the Birkbeck MFA Theatre Directing programme and received the Laurence Harbottle scholarship. He helped launch Tara Studio in 2007 as a curator of the first season, Hotbed, for young and emerging BME directors. He has since gone onto direct a series of classics, new writing and playreadings. Mukul has participated in the Step Change programme successfully and Staff Directed at the National Theatre, England.
Major productios - Adventure of Baron Munchausen, Rape of Lucrece, Prints of Denmark, Rokeya's Dream, Sonata, Ramayana/Demons Revenge and A Golden Age.
Most recently directed Peopls Romeo( Based on Romeo & Juliet) and Julius Caesar . He will be touring another Shakespeare to Bangladesh and India in early 2012.
Mukul has successfully programmed a Youth Shakespeare Festival and a Black History Month Festival at Tara Studio.
He has lived in Tower Hamlets, London since 1990 and is a multilingual person.
