On Thursday, January 24, Thirteen Trumpeter Swans were released at Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge in Dardanelle, Arkansas.
This is the beginning of a three year experiment. The goal is to make Arkansas part of the swans' migratory pattern. The release is called Reverse Migration Imprinting. The swans will be here until they fly back to Iowa for their summer habitat. Biologist hope they'll return here next winter and bring more swans with them.
If you spot the swans, the game and fish needs your help to track where you saw them and if they are tagged.
I'm so glad you got to be there!!!! Wonderful!
