The video makes it seem like fixing grammar and punctuation is the only thing a Writing Center does. It would be nice if students were introduced to the idea that there is more to writing than grammar. Moreover, I'm concerned that faculty members viewing this type of ad might get the idea that writing centers edit student work for them.

Thanks for the comment and insight into how it might be understood. The point about catching their attention via grammar is important. We've found that "grammar" is what students here tend to call anything to do with writing--they use it as a generic term to apply to both higher-order and lower-order concerns.

Video Cam Direct Upload

I love your video--but I'm a little worried by it. Does your WC only handle grammar? That's not what the 3 writing centers I've been affiliated with have done. The humor is wonderful--perhaps more so for those of us in the field of WC; I'd be careful about using this as advertising for your WC, or students may ONLY come there for grammar! (Unless, of course, that's what you want?)
