  • My dad was on cva64 in 1963 gulf of tonkin.He was a senior chief machinist mate A gang.He hated the Connie and retired from the canoe club with 23 years.He liked destroyers though.I did 6 years as an ht2 USS little rock clg4 and USS Hunley as31.The navy was good to me and I liked being a sailor for those 6 years.I would have been a lifer but I got shot three times in the hip and shattered femur in Beirut.
