The "Cape Eagle" was a schooner converted to side-dragging for scallops that sailed out of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This record of a 12 day fishing trip in April, 1962 was in my father's home movies. My father, Doug Brennan, went on the trip to collect scallop samples for a Department of Fisheries and Oceans project, and he wrote an interesting account of the voyage. Skipper, Roy Langille, was 31 years old at the time, the crew shucked scallops around the clock, 8 hours on and 4 hours off. Besides my general interest in fishing and the ocean, I used this piece to try out my new video editing program.
damn crews have it to easy today! they cry if they have to cut anything smaller the 15 count and whine if it blows harder the 20mph. if they had to do old school like this they would all die lol. great vid thanks for sharein. fish and scallop out of capemay n.j
