Pope Benedict Visits Jordan

Pope Benedict says he regrets offending Muslims in a speech three years ago. The pope was in Jordan Saturday on his first Middle East tour in which he hopes to improve strained ties with Muslims and Jews. (May 9)

Riots broke out around the world, an elderly nun who tended to Somali children was shot in the back and killed. Churches were burned down and Christians attacked throughout the Middle East, because Benoit XVI quoted a Byzantine Emperor who at the time was besieged by a Muslim Army and said:"Violence in the name of religion is wrong" Think about that. The Pope Quoted someone, and Muslim rioted, burned and killed over it. That how they expressed their "hurt" over a quote.

what a shame....!!...his holiness should talk about the muslims killing christians in their countries..and the possibility of open dialogue if that's what they want....can we talk about christianity and not talk about islam?...that's not fair, nor ecumenisim.

Blessed are the peacemakers for all you Protestants and please no slander. I was born in a Catholic but undevout family. I accepted Christ and went to a Pentecost church to learn. I prayed for guidance and the most pleasing way to the Lord. He answers with...The Catholic Church. Like it or not. I believe it to be true and I'm still praying that it is true. Why do you say that? In the Cathecism book it says Jesus is our Lord. So why do you say that? I wouldn't say a careless word because it might be slander, if I fear the Lord.
