NICE! what compression you going to be at with that? do the 968 pistons have different compression?and what are you doing with the zylender heads? cams? bigger valves? what an exciting project!
Take a peek at almost any given V-configuration engine, and they'll looks much the same. The cylinder banks are offset front-to-rear to allow opposing pistons to share one crankpin.
There's the odd exception, however. Some will run a 'split-end' rod, where the cylinders are not offset, that allows one rod to run inside the opposing one. Google the Darraq V-8 for a good example of this. Harley-Davidson also does it on their twins.

Ah, I see now, yea, despite it being a rather -new- setup to me, it does look to be better with space, not making the engine so big
