  • The Star Spangles banner was written in 1814, it was first played 104 yrs later, at the 1918 World Series at the 7th inning stretch, it was adopted by baseball and has been played at most games since. It wasn't untill 1931 when the U.S. decided it needed a national anthem, and adopted the Star Spangled Banner. Hendrix performance was right for the times. It was his way of expressing the feeling of some of american youth. That is the great thing about america, freedom of expression. Best ever.

  • Best rendition ever!!! Moves my hubby/Vietnam Vet/to tears(good ones)& he doesn't cry

  • I think it was George Harrison who said it best..."Before Jimi, we were all just strumming"!!!

  • 9 people are just faggots.. plain and simple.. and they should burn in hell...

  • he just played the history of america in like 3 and a half minutes

  • listin to his guitar... its not just noise it sounds like people screaming planes crashing and rockets hissing... just listen

  • NEXT I wanna do a song by Frances Scott Key---(JIMI...

  • this gives me chills and ballin tears at the same time

  • @tc112760 He was definitely on some acid, and as I recall from an acid trip once upon a time, that trip lasted about 15 hours. I do not think that Jimi was only good because of drugs, but i agree with nedmccrady1588 on the point that drugs were like coffee to this man. Jimi should be an inspiration to us all on the music aspect of his life, and a reminder on the drug side of his life. I do not judge him for what he did, because it was his life; who am I to tell him what to do?
