Tony Blackburn made his debut on Pirate BBC Essex 2009. He left the studio to go and meet and talk to some of the crowd that had gathered on Ha'Penny Pier in Harwich.
"grocer jack grocer jack is it true what mmommy said you won't come back." I can't believe the British still listen to the same music as they did in the 80s! But Tony Blackburn is great. Without him the British wouldn't know anything about soul music
Good to see this captured. Tony didn't ask the name of the lady who visited the ships 21 times. She could be Vivien Barnard, who shares some interesting memories in Keith Skues' book "Pop Went The Pirates."
