  • my mom always said, "if you dont have nothing nice to say, dont say nothing at all"... she must have not see this sad ass video of cars being hot lapped like a hooker in taiwan... weak ass launches and non-shifting drivers! hope y'all got home and cleaned your K&N (drop in) filters real good, im sure those dust clouds might have taken away from your performance!

  • @fullrearview ford isnt gonna make a 427. the 5.0 and 6.2 arent modular motors either but ford is actually planning on putting the 6.2 in the mustang in a few years but i also seen some stuff floating around on a forum i belong to that ford will be making a DOHC engine with a bore size of 3.900 and the stock stroke of the 5.0l. and the only advantage a chevy V8 has over a ford V8 is bigger bore size.

  • We need the New Trans Am..

The people in charge at GM need their heads examined for letting Pontiac go...

  • @marcomariaz26 No work for some... I took a friends WS6 12.96 and all it had was a cat back. LSX motors are great. So are Ford Modulars. I'm sure Ford with come out with a 427 Mod motor in the coming years.

  • Both are nice cars. Of course the T/A will stomp a NPI s95 with those bolt-ons though.

  • @LSX01Nation Motor Trend just goes with what GM claims, I'd guess, sort of like me...lol... Low 12's on street tires would be excellent and a good time to be had by all. i know the LSx motors don't need much work to get those times, so that's my main reason for having one - plus a friend is a GM tech with a '98 SS 6M, who can do the work super cheep 4 me, thus I can save some cash for the 315's out back for that traction you refer to... Don't want a ricer beating me... lol...

  • @marcomariaz26 Like i said don't pay attention to "ratings" Gm underrated the ls1 engine in the f-bodys so it wouldn't hurt corvette sales. They are all around 340-350. They will dyno a little different due to transmissions, part changes in years and ect. For instants a 01-02 ls1 f-body will dyno the highest due to a ls6 intake manifold swap from a ls1 intake manifold. You really cant go by motor trend or car and driver they dont know anything.

  • @LSX01Nation 1998 A4 was rated at 305hp/335tq, at least according to motor trend's videos here, and a co-worker has a 2000 SS with 320hp/340tq, and he has beaten me both times we've lined it up thus far...

  • @marcomariaz26 isyour trans am a m6 or a4? Bone Stock ls1's put out 340-350 hp at the fly-wheel don't let GM's power rating fool you.

  • @LSX01Nation 400whp would be fine. That would translate to about 450-470bhp, a huge increase over the stock 305bhp for sure and no doubt be something that would be immensely satisfying to accomplish. I'm not planning on taking it to a track or anything like that, so chances are on the street, I'd not have a lot of competition, and even if so, it'd still be all good to me, pulling off the toll booth and hitting 90 in seconds flat, t-tops off, ws6 handling got it goin' on...
