Violist Christen Lien combines her classical training with experimental acoustic and electronic sounds and a looping machine. What results is mesmerizing, layers of music that one fan called "a bridge to the divine." Entitled "Unabi," or Zulu for "flash of light," this song appears on Lien's debut album Vol I: Battle Cry.
made me explode with emotion. You must have put a lot of emotion in it. I am in awe

@thunderhaste Maybe there's something I'm missing. To me, the actual music was boring. It didn't MOVE. It didn't speak to me. Who cares if her bow is angled at an extreme- breaking the rules is great IF it's musical. But this wasn't musical. We've established this is the Realm of Opinions, not the Realm of Facts. Now the only question is how ignorant or misinformed my opinion is. Your statement was concise, and powerful, but didn't explain enough. What'd you like about it that I didn't see?

@CatFlashBlue you have much to learn

Her bow is going across the string at a terrible angle, and she's playing too close to the fingerboard unless she wants it to be flautando. I mean, I'm 16 and my bow angle isn't even that extreme. I guess it's easy enough to form some bad habits. Because of the position and angle the richness of the viola is lost. Maybe she felt emotion but it wasn't communicated to me at all. The song was boring.
