  • One of the strangest, most compelling things I've ever heard. I heard it first on Mad Men, first episode I think, and in many ways it IS Mad Men: that snaking, sultry saxophone with the nervous, anxious, pumped-up strings buzzing around it. In fact I couldn't quite believe what I was hearing. Thanks for this - I never thought I'd track it down!

  • This is used in MadMen S1 as he is going home in the rain at night, v atmospheric tune...thanx for posting, Most excellent

  • This is Caravan on caffeine and sexual anxiety.

  • Mad Men <3

  • I see nobody on here listens to hip hop, I heard this on Mad Men also but I just knew it was sampled on a hip hop song and sure enough it was used on the dope ass song "Da Goodness" by Redman ft. Busta Rhymes.

  • @ferociousgumby There's a lot of great versions of Caravan out there. I don't know why but it seems I can't post links, but look for versions by Dillie Gillespie and Duke Ellington. They're great!

  • Any jazz fans out there want to recommend some similar eerie jazz pieces for me? I love this shiz.

  • God...I love this song!

The first time I heard Caravan I was 3 or 4 years-old (it was my grandma's favorite and she played it all the time). After she died I would hear it occassionally in many versions throughout the years. They also played it in Ocean's Eleven and in Ocean's Thirteen; but since I heard it in Mad Men on this jazzy format I fell in love with it again!!

I love the show for the plot but also because they play the music I used to listen during my childhood!!!

  • first heard this on Mad Men, now playing it in big band workshop, love it! so mysterious

  • Mad Men yes. Luckily i have shazam and found it!

  • Mad Men Mad Men
