yes she sang this song in one take, that evening she died, i loved all her stuff but this song touched me, and i recorded for me if you want to listen its up to you, im not worthy sing this song, but she was amazing ..

Yeah, she might have looked good, but her heart muscle was already affected by the eating disorder. That's why she died, heart failure.

@sluggoII So 1989 was the first time it aired. That's the first time I ever saw it, and even though it was years later, I became a huge fan of the Carpenters. I dug out my father's old record album of them and I couldn't stop playing their songs. I also think it's a great movie, but I've heard that it isn't very accurate and that Richard Carpenter didn't like it. I don't know if that's true or not.

@Brooke684 The Karen Carpenter Story is a gem for all fans of The Carpenters. I remember watching it when it first aired on TV in 1989. It's not only a biography of Karen Carpenter (Richard Carpenter was the Executive Producer), but it also includes Carpenters performance recordings using Karen's real voice (Richard Carpenter allowed use of the audio masters). I hope you're as big a fan of Karen Carpenter as I am. We owe a debt of gratitude to EDzMyHomie for uploading it...
