@mintoo2cool Because you have to look at a harp while you're playing it. You have no reference for tactile finger positioning.
-
@MsFraddy Why's that?
-
I think that the harp is actually a very nice compliment to the symphonic performance.

@17260lujon Is that so ? I didn't know that ... I m an infant when it comes to knowledge of classical music. Under what circumstances is it allowed ... surely everyone else also has rehearsed ... but still the conductor guides them along ... co-ordinating ... also ... since people have already rehearsed, surely there is absolutely no need for a conductor anyways ... i m confused now ...lol

@mintoo2cool Perhaps they rehearsed? It does happen you know?

who is the lady with the harp ? why is she not being instructed by the conductor ?

@MsFraddy Your comment got me laughing hysterically -- I was thinking the very same thing before I read your comment. She looks dumb wandering around like she was kinda lost on stage...poor thing....she a very good harpist....just lost!!!!

bravo
Well, since Karl Jenkins tried very very hard to have Catrin play with his orchestra, I'll have to bow to his superior knowledge. When the persons objecting to the harp have composed such a piece of music, then they have a right to be critical. For me, I find this presentation remarkable.

Like the harp. Not too keen on the lady wandering around with it!
