Here's a little memento I made of my encounter with Alex Niño. It was held at the Laurel House along Shaw Blvd, organized by Imee Marcos in association with Cream (Creative Media and Film Society of the Philippines). I knew very little about him prior to, but I couldn't help but become one of his admirers instantly. From his earlier days of painting with shoe polish for ink and the standard brush carpenters use to paint houses with, he has become one of the most recognized artist/illustrator here and abroad, so much so, that it is no surprise anymore if his artwork gets stolen and sold off for a hefty price...again.
Art runs in our bloodline. Truly a Master!

Treasure the sketch, detailed or not. It is what the master knows to leave out that most artists strive to understand.
