What an amazing organization, and wonderful people I have been able to connect with to share with you.
In the land down under is Nova Employment. Where they assist people with disabilities from the final year of high school through adulthood. Rather than offer a one size fits all people approach to more or less stuffing people into spots thought to be the best for people with disabilities. The people at NOVA find out what each person would like to do. A unique concept concidering that not many people even realize we people with disabilities have hopes, dreams and even ideas of what kind of career we might like to do.

NOVA doesn't do the work, ot even the part of landing a job for anyone they assist. Like any Job Placement Agency for able people they function in that way. They do work closely with many people, employers, and others who have dicovered that we people with disabilities are the most productive employees they have ever hired. Face it we need to be much more willing to adapt to life around us that able bodied people are, and in order to do what we do you can sit around and whine poor me. I don't feel like working...
We have our good days, and days we can't work due to our medical conditions. Not due to hating our jobs, or the boss, or customers.
Employers that have decided to RISK working with people with disabilities soon discover it is actually less risky than they ever imagined. NOVA will do it's best to find the right person for the right job YOU have as the employer. That person will still need to interview, and land the job all on their own based on what job skills they bring. SAME as any able person would.
The goal here is simple: Treat people with disabilities just like any other person you deal with. Yes, sometimes it takes a little extra effort for us to communicate, or do what might take no effort for others. However, this doesn't mean we can't do an excellent job for you.
At NOVA they saw this in people with disabilities years ago now, and continue to do all they can to connect good people with good jobs.
I'm not paid to feature NOVA Employment. I just admire what they are doing as far as shattering the ideas society has ignorantly kept thinking.
