If you analzye an investment and determine that it will be worth less in the near future, you sell. If you believe that investment will bounce back, you buy it at it's low.
It's investing 101. People aren't selling off their stock because they are affraid. People are selling off their stock because they anticipate that it's worth will be lower in the near future.
