im just looking for something to take when im out of town and cant use dead weights is all would you think of this as a good investment

@slatanicslaughter Not everyone who trains the olympic lifts takes steroids. I did not claim that people don't cross-train, you're being presumptuous about your interpretation of what I was saying.
I recognize the value of eccentric training, and I don't mean that olympic lifters never use it (they do). Just that there are those who focus a lot of concentric movements and still get progress.
Christian Thib has some stuff on that on T-nation. Not sure if it's true since he's kinda dumb though.

@slatanicslaughter Hypertrophy can be produced without eccentric contractions, so your argument is moot. Tell this to the olympic weightlifters.
-
@shlammed Actually yes, our brain can tell the difference because they feel rather different.
-
@shlammed exactly. haha. As if the body will say "No i will not allow all the straining to make you stronger becasue you're using bands. And bands are lame."
-
@shlammed smartest comment i have ever read when it comes to these arguments

Anyone who does the bodylastics live exercise programs can tesity to the fact that Steve knows what's he's doing. His cardio classes kick your ass six ways to saturday when you do them right

First off, yes these will make you ripped, but its just like free weights in the sense that you need a HEALTHY diet of fruits veggies,Carbs protiens etc or you wont get ripped. Bodylastics are better than freeweights. No joint pain,No risk of injury (the bands wont snap) you cant gain momentum (train your fast twitch muscle fibers that give you explosiveness) so you need to stop looking for excuses and stick with a program, eat right, and see amazing results. Look at T.O he uses these over FW's
Reading all the back and forth about whether or not you can gain mass using these is quite amusing to me. I haven't seen a single person mention that in order to gain mass/build muscle, you will need to eat a healthy diet that has has sufficient calories to do so. Do you think your body really knows the difference between a dumbell and an elastic?

other days, i do Hammer Strength/Free Weights... these are great for pre-exhaustion (example do front shoulder raises to warm up muscle without using major muscle groups, then do 4 sets of shoulder press) or u can superset band curls/push ups .... all kinda stuff, but I LUV THESE THINGS, not just cuz TO is my favorite athlete either... great investment!
