How To Unlock iPhone 3Gs/3G 4.2.1/4.1 Using Ultrasn0w 1.2 And Redsn0w 0.96b5 Windows And Mac

1. Update Your iPhone 3Gs/3G To 4.2.1 In iTunes OR STAY AT 4.1

2. Download Your 4.1 Or 4.2.1 Firmware Here

3. Open Redsn0w

4.Browse for 4.2.1 Firmware File

5.Select "Install iPad Baseband" and install Cydia if you are not already jailbroken

6.Follow steps on screen to put device into DFU Mode.

7.Open up Cydia

8.Go to "Manage"

9. Go to "Sources" and Edit and Add

10. http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com

11. Install "Ultrasn0w"

12. Reboot Device

Appears to have worked smoothly, followed every step, no errors, I don't have a new sim card yet, and I noticed that under "carrier" info it still says Rogers9.0. Will this change when I get a sim for the phone? I would think that if the phone was now unlocked, it would no longer say Rogers 9.0 under :carrier: in network. I haven't put the old Rogers sim card in yet.

Its on the firmware 4.2.1

So i download the Firmware 4.2.1

And using redsnow 0.9.6rc16

I do it by step by step and when i put the phone into DFU mode and its loading all the stuff on my computer screen redsnow just closes down??

I used reds0w 0.9.6b4 for iphone 3g 4.2.1 but install ipad baseband option is not there to choose and cydia won't let me download repo666.ultrasn0w comes as an error everytime please help
