Purple Shades is from an album called 'Mixed Bag' that was sort of a compilation of previous singles plus four "new" songs. Mixed Bag is probably the best Troggs album in terms of overall quality. The Troggs got ignored in the late-60's because of politics (not being into drugs or hippiedom, etc.) not lack of talent. Music quit being fun in the late 60's.

i can't help but comment again about this song. it's really catchy and i like it very much. this without a doubt could have been a top 10 hit anyway if they put a little more time on it and marketed it better.

what album and what year was this made? .... trying to be in the drug scene with the other mind altering members of other well known groups. reg presley said that they never took drugs unlike most other groups did at time of the drug era .... so this song must have made them try to fit in! this could have been a little longer ..... it could have been a big hit for sure!
