Emerald City Design - Singapore Airlines

After the successful creation of the SIA Commercial Making the World Smaller, Emerald City was asked to create a shot of flying into and around the heart of Singapore city. The task was made harder due to strict air traffic restrictions over Singapore.

Emerald City was faced with the challenge of creating the fly-over totally in the digital world. To create downtown Singapore accurately Emerald City did extensive survey and photography of the city. With the many photographs and data in conjunction with real viz image modeller software an accurate 3D model of the city was built.

Extensive matte-painting photogrammetry was created for all of the buildings. These matte painted elements all had the lighting for the shot built into them. Many other elements were created including boats, water, parks, and moving cars on 3D bridges to bring the shot to life.
