Nice Video! I've had some friendly horn blowing done to me to before though never like that. Normally it's two short blows. As for answering some of the other comments, you don't expect a horn show every time that you are taking pictures, filming, or waving to a train. It's kind of a thing of surprise and pleasure when it does happen, but it is ultimutly the engineer's choice. In other words, us railfans are not out there for just the sake of hearing the horns. and besides that dude i live in a small town with railroad tracks a perfect place for what your trying to say and everyone in this town is so used to hearing the horn that they can tune them out....you kinda do get used to hearing them after a bit

you bring up a valid point, and after i said that i kinda realized that i was just assuming that so i apoligize for that statement. But at the same time it is not like every train blows the horn at fans so i mean if its a problem for the few that do then maybe you need to lighen up a little bit.

@sexyflager101 I like trains and train horns and bells. I also play tower bells and like sirens - own Federal Signal 2t22A and 3t22A airaid sirens. But people DO sleep in the day: night workers, sick people, babies, tired mothers, elderly. You don't disturb them and wake them - for nothing. No need to build PR with track side railfans. They ALREADY like trains. The horn is not a toy. Playing with the horn is unprofessional. Why do you think people go to the trouble of Quiet Zones?

@robertgift As long as the engineer properly blows the horn at the appropriate times, there are few supervisors who are going to repremind an engineer for blowing the horn for a friendly hello. I've railroaded my entire life and for the most part am a stickler for following the rules. However, if it helps build up a bit of friendly community PR to honk "hello" then I have no problem with it as long as safety isn't compromised.
Just my viewpoint.

VERY NICE SHOW! and for the ignoramous that said that his uncle would reprimand any engineer for improper horn use you really need to get out of here and quit trying to start shit over a horn i mean really? come on now just because you hate trains done mean that us railfans cant have ourselves a nice moment of happiness when we have a friendly crew pass by us........grow up
You people complaining about him shaking, get real. If you thumbs down this comment then you were one of those people. This kid likes trains and had the initiative to get out and record these guys out doing their job in the cold (it's cold which is why he's shaking mind you; of course you wouldn't understand that.) while you sit in the house drawing welfare complaining about a shaky video on Youtube. Fools! Good video, young man!
